Princess Diana: An inspiration to my future work

Princess Diana, an inspiration to many in the United Kingdom and worldwide, is a massive contributor to international development. She invested in many charity and non-profit organizations to maintain a level of reaching out to those in need around the world. She did all of this work until she died in 1997. Her work in the countries of Angola and Bosnia further contributed to other topics around the world with cancer, HIV/AIDS, and minefields. She became a patron to both Centrepoint charity and the Leprosy Mission UK. For Centrepoint, Prince William continues his mother's work to this day.

My professional career is focused on international development work, and a considerable portion is humanitarian-based. Humanitarian-based refers to the understanding of applying theoretical and practical knowledge and analytical and technical expertise for a successful career in the international humanitarian field. Yet my work is not only focused on humanitarian work but with Princess Diana as a humanitarian aid worker in the international area inspired me to start in this field as well.

Princess Diana was an international worker and an advocate for many peoples, many minority groups, including people with disabilities. She advocated and visited many deaf schools in the United Kingdom and learned British Sign Language (BSL) by joining the British Deaf Association. Her involvement with the Deaf community furthers my admiration for Princess Diana and her life's work.

The video below was filmed of one Deaf teacher and his response to Diana's persona.

This shows the determination and persistence of Diana as a person, not only as a Royal member, to participate with the Deaf community. In the past, it is known for Royal members to learn BSL and fingerspell to communicate when necessary. For example, Queen Victoria expressed in sign language and fingerspelling with Princess Alice of Battenberg (current King of England Philip's mother), who was deaf.

This is to show where my ambitions and my tribute to Diana and the work she had done to make my pursuit of international development and humanitarian work.
